Brian Mollot develops pragmatic solutions related to transit operations and maintenance. Brian focuses on managing safety event investigations and identifying root causes to prevent reoccurrence of hazardous conditions through detailed mitigations.

Brian Mollot currently serves the TRA team as a technical consultant. Prior to his work at TRA, he worked for the School District of Philadelphia (SDP) in the transportation department serving as project manager for the Extended School Year summer program as well as compliance monitor for all bus operations. He also served as the legal liaison for the SDP Office of General Counsel where he reviewed and processed settlement agreements related to student transportation. Mr. Mollot has gained extensive knowledge of transit planning, funding, operations, and equity considerations, and currently supports TRA on multiple rail transit State Safety Oversight (SSO) projects, including heavy rail and light rail transit systems. Mr. Mollot supports various SSO activities including system audits, field reviews, event investigations, incident/hazard analysis, on-site inspections, and policy development. Mr. Mollot supports the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT), the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) Office of State Safety Oversight (OSSO) through safety plan reviews, analysis of rules and regulations, in-person inspections, and reviewing safety event investigations. Mr. Mollot has also completed special reviews of near-miss investigations and operation control center staffing plans for Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) in San Francisco. Mr. Mollot has a passion for vehicle maintenance best practices as well as proper safety monitoring of vehicle facilities.
