Emma, a former researcher of bio-inspired engineering, works with transit agencies on corrective actions, safety promotion, and continuous improvement. She assists safety agencies with field reviews, inspections, and instructional material design.
Emma Forbes is a project analyst supporting multiple clients comprising both rail transit agencies (RTAs) and State Safety Oversight Agencies (SSOAs). Forbes is experienced in implementing the regular activities of state safety oversight in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements as well as managing specialized projects for clients, such as executing requirements from a Safety Management Inspection; creating research reports on international transit policies or new regulations; and designing educational guides, safety posters, one-sheet briefs, and training materials. Forbes frequently conducts field reviews of agency operations, stations conditions, and employee safety practices. Forbes has also lectured graduate-level students on her award-winning research on engineering, design, and ethics.
