Ian Thomas is a Project Analyst with a background in architectural design and construction management who focuses on leveraging prior experiences towards rail transit oversight in support of protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

Mr. Thomas provides support for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation State Safety Oversight Agency (PennDOT SSOA), the Missouri Department of Transportation Oversight (MoDOT SSO) along with the Bi-State Safety Oversight (BSSO) Agencies, and the Utah Department of Transportation State Safety Oversight (UDOT SSO). His work includes general program management and support, regulatory compliance reviews and inspections, triennial and special audits at various Rail Transit Authorities (RTAs), supporting hazard management process, and the development and monitoring of corrective action plans. This also includes Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) reviews and risk-based inspection (RBI) planning and implementation.
