Max Smith helps agencies implement and continuously improve safety oversight, plans, and programs. His experience includes driving state safety oversight agency growth and development, planning and executing audits, inspections, safety certification oversight, and corrective action plan oversight, and hands-on work as part of NTSB and other safety event investigations. He primarily supports the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Safety Oversight Agency, which is responsible for oversight of the Maryland Transit Administration’s Light RailLink, Metro SubwayLink, and Purple Line light rail projects.
