TRA conducted a comprehensive assessment of Rail Services Control Center organization and management, in the context of the center’s upcoming move to a new, intermodal control center. TRA made recommendations regarding process improvements, workforce development, professional culture, and the control center transition.
TRA is currently implementing some of the enhancements, including creation of a Performance Management Plan for employee assessment, improvement, and data reporting; a study of Controller compensation at MARTA’s peer agencies; identification of soft skills training for Controller professional development; and revisions to job descriptions and Standard Operating Procedures.
