TRA provided subject matter expertise in developing an Interoperability Communications Plan (ICP) for Amtrak. As the only national passenger railroad, the development of this plan involved an extensive review of Amtrak’s current communications system and its use by Amtrak personnel throughout the nation.
The purpose of the interoperability plan is to enhance communications between internal and external stakeholders during emergency events. The TRA team coordinated communications and policy development to allow Amtrak to participate with all public safety entities within its areas of operation, including technology solutions and training recommendations.
