TRA is currently developing an agency-wide PTASP for BART, as well as performing an assessment of the safety culture and safety training practices across the organization. TRA is reviewing a range of training programs for direct or indirect relationships to safety requirements with a goal of determining how the training fits into the bigger needs of an effective SMS.
TRA will provide a summary of the effectiveness of the training programs in delivering safety messages and an analysis of coordination of safety messages across different training programs. The study will also include a high-level gap analysis that BART will be able to incorporate into its development of an SMS and more advanced safety goals and objectives.
