TRA serves as contractor to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), performing the 2008, 2011, 2015, and 2018 Three-Year Reviews (Triennial Audits) of the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (Houston METRO) and Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) light rail systems.
These reviews evaluated each rail system’s compliance with its own policies and procedures, as well as the TxDOT State Safety and Security Oversight Program Standard and 49 CFR Part 659. TRA performed on-site reviews of both rail transit systems and managed the CAP process that resulted from these activities. On an ongoing basis starting in 2015, TRA performs technical reviews of CAP materials to help TxDOT verify implementation of hazard mitigations and process improvements at DART and METRO.
