How did you begin working at TRA? Who was your first client?

Working with my previous employer, SEPTA, I got to know various TRA employees who worked on behalf of PennDOT on state safety oversight. I joined TRA in 2012. My first project was with Chris Wallgren and Julie Bender, performing an assessment and developing recommendations for the MARTA system safety department to help them formalize policies and procedures and enhance their organizational structure.

What do you like most about your job?

I really enjoy the travel, as well as working with transit agency clients and learning how their organizations and infrastructures function.

What would people be surprised to know about you?

I’ve been a hard-core volunteer fire fighter and emergency medical technician for 43 years in the town where I reside, leading up 10 years of service as Chief of Fire and Rescue Operations.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

I spend a good amount of my spare time fishing, and I’m enjoying hanging out with my new grandkid as well.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I would go fishing in Alaska – beautiful scenery and great fishing opportunities!
