TRA’s Summer 2024 Interns, Alice, Emily, & Sophie

This summer, TRA had the pleasure of working with three interns who brought unique backgrounds and a shared passion for public transportation to the team. We would like to thank and highlight Emily, Sophie, and Alice!

Emily is a rising senior at Bryn Mawr College studying Urban Studies and Data Science. Emily enjoyed gaininghands-on experience in the transit world through her work on data analysis, quality assurance and control, policy peer reviews, and presentations to State Safety Oversight Agencies. She loved participating in on-site work and “peering behind the curtain” of transit.

Sophie is a rising senior at Villanova University, studying Economics and Environmental Science. Sophie appreciated the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and assist on projects throughpolicy research and audit support. She looks forward to continuing to learn about transit safety and applying new skills she has gained as she stays with our team in the fall.

Alice is working towards her MSEng in Data Science at University of Pennsylvania. Alice enjoyed learning about industry policies and applying her data analysis skills to identify industry trends. She was excited that her work not only enhanced her understanding of real-world data structures but also contributed to the greater mission of ensuring public transit safety. Alice found the impact of TRA’s work on people’s daily lives to be rewarding and is looking forward to continuing with TRA this fall.

Thank you, Emily, Sophie, and Alice, and we look forward to following your bright futures! And thank you to our internship coordination team which continues to find the best of the best for TRA and provide them with a great work experience.
